How to Find Local Venues

Hey everyone!

I've had people ask me all the time how I know about so many different venues all over Kansas and Nebraska. So, I wanted to take a second to step away from the bands themselves and share my secrets about finding great concert venues near you.

Finding Venues:
There's a couple of really easy ways to find all the little bars, clubs, and theaters that host bands in the cities near you.

1. Facebook Search:

The easiest way I've discovered is to simply do a Facebook search. Facebook has a feature that allows users to search for events near them; simply click on search events, put in the town you want to search for and start scrolling. When you find a live music event click on it; the info listed at the top of the event should have a tagged location. Click on that and select visit page and it should take you to the venue's Facebook page. Just "like" or "follow" that page and you can select an option to have Facebook send you a notification every time they add a new even. While it is a little time consuming at first, scrolling and finding all the venues and liking their page, once you've gone through once in that area and liked all the venue pages you're good to go!

2. Check with the Locals

The next best way I've found to learn about little venues is to ask people who live in the area. If you go to a little bar concert ask around! See where else people like to hang out. Asking people where their favorite places are will not only let you know where in town to go, they also give you an idea of what types of shows play at those places, how the staff runs, and what the atmosphere is like. Sometimes it's scary going to a little bar in the middle of town that you've never been to before. By asking people about it they can give you somewhat of an idea of what you're walking into before you get there.

Now that you know how to find them, I want to share some of my favorite places to see shows! I'll link the Facebook page for each venue so that way you guys don't have to do too much more searching. Look for the separate posts for each state that I frequent.
