Hello everyone!
Welcome to Little and Local Music! My name is Kim Korber, and I'm currently attending Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. Ever since I was little, I've had a deep love and appreciation for music. I listen to music all the time! That's why I decided to blog about music!
At concerts many times, people give little to no attention to the opening bands. That's why I plan to dedicate my blog to them. I will be posting information about bands in the area as well as little up-and-coming bands. I think people lose touch with local artists because many people don't even know they're here, and I'm hoping to fix that.
Since I've been to over 100 concerts in the last two years, I've met many local and little artists trying to carve out a name for themselves. I've heard how far they travel, all the time and passion they put into their music, and how little they are compensated for it. I hope my blog gets the word out about local talent and encourages people to listen to new things. Since my favorite genre of music is rock/alternative, my blog will mostly stick to those genres but I may try to throw in some other bands every now and then.
I hope my posts will not only help little and local bands find new fans, but I hope my blog helps people find some new music to support near them!

I think this is a great blog idea! There are a lot of great music artists in Topeka and not ma y people know about them.

ReplyDeleteI love this blog idea because I think people get too consumed on the most popular artists and don't pay much or any attention to local artist. I know I am guilty of this so I am excited to follow your blog and learn more!
