Eleven After - Holton, Kansas
Welcome back everyone! I hope you loved last week's band! If you did and you also like bands such as System of a Down, Shinedown, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, or Slipknot, you're sure to love this week's band as well!
Eleven After is a four piece rock/metal group from just outside Topeka, Kansas in a town called Holton. The band is made up of Brandon Statler (guitar, lead vocals), Brittian Kitzman (drums), Skylar Schooler (bass, vocals), and James Buchholz (guitar). Eleven After (sometimes shown as [:11]) released their debut album Awake and Dreaming during the summer of 2012. Since then, they've drummed up quite the following by performing all over the Topeka and NE Kansas area.
It's incredibly hard to pinpoint their exact sound, but I would compare Eleven After to the likes of Alterbridge and Crossfade. Their Facebook page (found here) describes the sound as, "thunderous guitars, soaring vocals, and memorable grooves that blur the lines between rock and metal." No matter who they get compared to though one thing is for certain: Eleven After brings an incredibly unique sound to the rock scene. The driving guitar riffs mixed with the bright melody of vocals transports the listener to a unique place. In case you don't believe me, here's a live acoustic performance of one of their songs:
If you thought that was great be sure to check out their other songs on Youtube and on ReverbNation!
Not only do they sound amazing in the studio, Eleven After also puts on an electric live show. Audiences have a chance to not only see how well these guys work together, but they get a chance to really feel the music. I've seen Eleven After play live once, and I can tell you that hearing the emotion and dedication these guys have for their music will blow anyone away! I'd never heard of them before, but once I saw them live, I was hooked! I've said it once and I'll say it again, be sure to check these guys out and don't forget that they are a local band so be sure to go out and buy their music and merchandise. It'll really help them out!
Well, that's all for this week folks! Thanks again for reading and be sure to tune in next week for another band!

I had never heard of "Eleven After" before this blog. After listening to the song you linked, I have to say that they have a really cool sound!
