Faded Black is a five-piece rock band based out of Lincoln, Nebraska and consisting of Danny Walker (vocals), Mike Rust (guitar), Steve Rust (drums), Brandon Salisbury (bass), and Phil Malchow (guitar). Faded Black formed back in 2007 and released a self-titled EP shortly after. In 2009 the band switched things up, reformed, and started writing and recording new music. Since then, Faded Black has released two new albums and a remastered version of their EP (all of which can be found on iTunes and Spotify). One of the most popular songs from their newest album Bring the Light can be found below:
As you can see, Faded Black takes a heavy-hitting, sharp drum beat, driving guitar riffs, and beautiful, melodic lead vocals and marries them together for an explosion of heavy rockin' masterpieces. It gives Faded Black a truly unique sound in the rock world.
Not only are they amazing in the studio, Faded Black also gives an incredible live show. I have seen them live twice and they are phenomenal! Just watching them, it's easy to see that every member of Faded Black does what they love and loves what they do. The lead singer can be seen running all over the stage, interacting with the crowd as well as the other band members. The guitarists constantly look to each other and play off of each others' energy. It's really a site to see. Like they said on their Facebook page (which you can find here), "This is definitely a group of up and coming musicians doing what they love, writing and playing music that fans of all genres and demographics can enjoy."
After the show, the guys in Faded Black can always be found hanging out at their merch table ready to talk to fans, take pictures, sign merchandise, or just hang out. If you live in the Lincoln area, I highly suggest you take the time to go out and see this band! You won't regret it. If you don't happen to live in the area, be sure to check them out on Facebook and purchase their music and merchandise. They are a local, up-and-coming band so be sure to support them so they can continue doing what they love!
